Arming Sisters courses do not teach women’s self-defense through the lends of prevention – but through the lens of healing
Traditional self-defense moves are taught, along with self-care, missing and murdered indigenous women and girls (MMIWG), violence against Native women, the Violence Against Women Act, and other topics.
While every training is slightly different, the agenda generally includes:
- A background of Arming Sisters
- Healing topics: body language, awareness, trusting your intuition, removing yourself from a situation, vocalization, and stress responses
- Physical application of self-defense moves
- Q&A
- Sharing stories of strength
While this training will include topics that may be difficult or triggering for some, the training space will be one of support and encouragement.
Note that this training is open to both men and women.
